Iran Jewelry Museum, located on Ferdowsi Street in Tehran, just in front of the Turkish embassy is one of Tehran's touristic attraction. A part of the treasure, which was recovered from India, was damaged or disappeared on the way back to Iran. As was customary at that time, after returning to Iran, Nadir Shah presented some of the jewels to the neighboring kingdoms such as the Ottoman Emperor Sultan Mahmoud, Queen Elizabeth and the ruler of Bukhara Abolfeiz Khan. Some of the gems and jewels were also presented in the sacred shrine of the eighth of the Shia Muslims, the Imam Reza, and the distribution among his army.
an important part of the real treasury was transferred to the National Bank of Iran to strengthen the financial power of the bank and also to be lent as a support of the monetary system. In January 1960, during the reign of Mohammad Reza Shah, the collection was transferred to the Central Bank. After the Islamic revolution in 1979, the royal collection of the Pahlavi dynasty, as well as some other pieces, is in the treasury of the Central Bank. Since then, it has been named the Treasure of National Jewels of Iran.
