The Abbasi house, Abbasi Mansion (English Name ) or Khaneh-ye Abbasiha ( Farsi Name ) as one of the mainly traditional family houses in Iran , is a large traditional historical house located in Kashan, Esfahan Province, Iran. The Abbasi House is now a museum and is protected by Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization.
The Abbasi House an example of Kashan's residential architecture was built during the late 18th century, which lasted 20 years, in Qajar Dynasty era. Like other notable traditional houses, such as Tabatabaei house and Borujerdi house this house was by Abbasi family who was a famous merchant in Kashan.
The Abbasi house has been recently renewed is a huge complex connecting buildings with courtyards, pools, terraces and rooms. This surface of the Abbasi mansion is over 7000 meter square and it has two main parts like other traditional houses such as Tabatabaei house and Boroujerdi house. This two parts are called "Birooni", which refers to the public part of the house, and "Andarooni" private area where the female residents of the house used to spend time. The: Andarouni "has a patio around which were located a series of interconnected rooms along with a Shahneshin or Panjdari (five-door living room or windows with characteristically prominent as the elaborate mirror on the ceiling, the windows and wooden door, stucco reliefs, stained glass windows), a prayer room, a laundry room, a kitchen, a water well and the basement ... The pool of Howz Khaneh (house of the pool) has several channels that directed the water from Qanat (underground water network) to this pool.
Like other traditional houses, the Abbasi house has a wind catcher to keep the air conditioning and pleasant during the hot days. The "Birouni" part of the house that was used by the men of the house and the guests includes a large and a small room, a Hall of Mirrors, a storage room, a pavilion, a basement and a small water well .
