Arak


Arak is the capital of Markazi province while it is considered as one of the greatest Iranian cities. Among the most populated Iranian states it has the 14th stage based on what has been declared at 2014.


 

 

Arak a young city in Iran

In comparison to many other Iranian cities, Arak is considered as a young city as it has been founded during Qajar dynasty with less than 2 centuries of historical record. Before the foundation of Arak as an independent city, it was a fortress beside an Iranian ancient village “Karahrud”.

The founder of Arak Yousef Khan Goji famous as Sepahdar, a high grade military man, has been founded the city with 200,000 Toman. In the new city, the whole needed infrastructures including: Qanat, Bath, Ab Anbar, Mosque, School, Bazaar and Governmental Castle have been founded in order to make the city more and more convenience and equipped.

 

Arak weather

Arak has cold and humid winters with hot and dry summers. It is located on the hillside of the Zagros mountain range within a safe zone with low risk of destroying earth quakes. Arak residences are predominantly Muslims and Shi’i followers, but a minority of Christens and Baha’is are also living in Arak. The majority of Arak residences speak Persian with Araki accent.

 

 

Arak is the first great industrial Iranian city

Among the whole industrial Iranian cities, Arak is considered as one of the pioneers. Regards to variety of the products, Arak is the first great industrial Iranian city, Regards to embracing the most efficient Iranian industries, Arak is the second Iranian city and generally it is considered as the 4th pole of Iran industry. As a matter of fact, Arak is one of the most polluted Iranian cities.
