Dizin ski resort is the largest ski resort in Iran, located in Alborz mountains it’s proximate distance from north Tehran is 70 kilometers.
The base level of this resort is 2650 meters high (8694 ft). The highest point of elevation of Dizin ski resort is 3600 meters (11800 ft), which makes it one of the 40 high ski resorts in the world.
Dizin ski resort was founded in 1960’s during the reign of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and is the first established ski and winter sport resort in Iran. Due to its capability of administrating official and international competitions, it was officially recognized, acknowledged and granted by the international Ski federation.
The skiable area is about 469 ha and consists of 24 runs. 4 gondolas, 3 chairlifts and 9 surface lifts forms the lift system used in the resort. There is no night skiing available and it’s not equipped with snowmaking technology.
Due to its high altitude the ski season in Dizin resort starts from December and lasts until May. The snow in DIzin ski resort is powdery and can compete with many European and Rocky mountain snow areas.
The ski resort is equipped with facilities such as hotels, cottages, restaurants, villas, and private apartments.
There are other sport activities, such as mountain biking, tennis and mountain climbing, taking place in the resort.
Taxis are available from Tehran, and one can use their own car via Chalus road. As told by a tourist, taking a small car or taxi from Tehran wouldn't be that costly but it's really recommended to arrange it before. Tours and small groups can be arranged using a van or minibus for bigger groups and a minivan for smaller groups.
